9 November 1877 was the day when Iqbal opened his eyes to this world. Shaheens of Iqbal celebrate this day every year in Pakistan and all over the world. On this day we repeated the message of Iqbal before the world.
145th birthday celebration of Iqbal:
Lahore_ the nation celebrates Iqbal day with zeal and zest (9 November 2022). It became a tradition after independence to celebrate this day.
Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif has announced a public holiday across the country.
Changing of guard ceremony at Mizar-e-Iqbal:
A prestigious ceremony was held at Mizar-e-Iqbal, the day was started by prayer and squad of Pakistan Navy took their duties at Mizar.
Pakistan Navy’s Commander Sajid Hussain was the chief guest. He laid floral wreath at the grave of Iqbal, offered Fateha and prayed for the prosperity of Pakistan.
Governer Punjab Baligh Ur Rehman also visited Mizar Iqbal and offered Fateha.
Message of Prime Minister:
PM Shahbaz Sharif urged the nation to carried out self-accountability whether they succeed to safeguard Iqbal’s Pakistan which came into being consequent to the remarkable struggle of millions of people.
Message of President:
President Dr. Arif Alvi said we pay homage to Alama Iqbal for giving the idea of the separate homeland for the Muslims of subcontinent.
German Embassy is honored on this day that copy of Iqbal’s Ph.D. degree remained in German university. They added that Iqbal’s personality inspired them.
Contribution of Iqbal for Pakistan:
Initially Iqbal was the supporter of Hindu Muslim unity later on he changed his thought after Urdu-Hindi controversy. In 1930 he addressed the people of Allahabad. First time he clearly demanded a separate homeland in Muslim majority areas of Punjab, Sindh, Bengal, NWFP and Baluchistan so that Muslims would live according to Islam. In short, the independence of Pakistan was the dream of Iqbal.
Philosophy of Iqbal:
Iqbal was a great philosopher. His words severed as a healer for the souls of the Muslims of subcontinent who had reached at the depth of darkness after losing the war of independence 1857.
He gave the Philosophy of Self-Loyalty. A concept of KHODI meaning (selfhood). for Iqbal Khodi is everything. Khodi does not belong to negativity or pride; it means knowing yourself.
He said:
“Elevate Yourself so High that Even God, Before Issuing Decree of Destiny, Should Ask you: Tell me What is Your Desire?” _ Allama Iqbal.
Iqbal address/advice to youth:
Iqbal called his youth, ‘SHAHEEN’.
“Tu Shahee Hai Parwaz Hai Kaam tera
Terey Samney Asmaa or Bhi Hain.”
(So, Shaheen, fighting is your task. There is heaven Infront of you.)

To conclude, Iqbal’s words, work and advice are beautiful Pleasants for us. He was the true leader. We celebrate this day so that we remember him and his work. Hence it became a tradition.
