The day of 16 december,2014 was the black day in the history of Pakistan. On this day Pakistan lost its blooming flowers who were to play an important role for the construction of Pakistan.

Eight years have passed since this tragedy, but the grief of these innocent lives is still alive in the heart of the nation.

The 9th anniversary of this deadly attack on APS (Army Public School) is observed across the country and a ceremony is held at Army Public School on Saturday. The day started with the prayer for the martyr of the APS. A minute’s silence was observed in solidarity with the martyr before the meeting in the Assembly of Pakistan.

In New York, a ceremony for the Martyr of APS was held in which the Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto attend this ceremony

Tragedy of Peshawar 2014:

On the morning of 16 december,2014 six
gunmen terrorists of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) attacked the
APS school in Northwestern area (Peshawar). Almost 149 people including children, teachers and the principle were killed in this tragedy which is the 4th largest Deadliest School Massacre of the world. In this emergency Special Services Group (SSG) of Pakistan’s Army, resecured 960 people and killed the 6 terrorists (One Chechen, three Arabs and two Afghans).

TTP had released a video on 18 December 2014 in which they claimed the responsibility that the attack was a revenge for the Operation Zarb-E-Azb (an operation of Pakistan Armed Force against terrorists that was initiated in June 2014). The mastermind of this attack was Omar Khorasani (Killed in Afghanistan in 2022).

What have we Lost?

The aim of the attack on the school was to create fear among the people so that Pakistan lags behind on the way of development. Innocent children lost their life who wanted to serve as an army official for Pakistan. Many teachers were killed who were the ray of hope of their homes.

The injured students suffered from psychological problems.

What have we Gain?

Although we lost our innocent people, but this tragedy also brought the Pakistani nation together on one page.

The PM Announced the “National Action Plane” for cracking down on the terrorist's groups especially the TTP.

The operation of “Zarb-E-Azb" was succeeded by the operation “Rad-Ul-Fassad" to eliminate the terrorists across all Pakistan. The former PM Nawaz Sharif announced the law on 17 December 2014, that removes the moratorium on the terrorist’s execution. In this way the 4 terrorists of this tragedy were executed to death.

The APS was reopened on 12 January 2015 and continues the journey of success.

Conclusion:

This tragedy reminds us that our strength is our youth that are the bright future of Pakistan, and we have to conquer the world through the power of pen.

In the end I would like to say that they (terrorists) had attacked from back, but we will fight from front line.
