To remember the effort of Quaid-e-Azam, celebrating his birthday on 25 December has become a part of the culture of Pakistan.
Today the whole Nation is celebrating 146th Birthday of the Founding Father of Pakistan (Mr. Jinnah) with traditional zeal by paying tribute for his selfless effort for the Minority Muslims of the Indian Sub-Continent.
We all known that the struggle for the Independence of Pakistan was a journey of thorns and Quaid-e-Azam sacrificed his whole life for the independence of the Muslims, but did we take care of the trust of the Quaid?
Is Today’s Pakistan, the Pakistan that Quaid-e-Azam wanted to create?
Celebration Across the Country:
The morning of 25 December 2022 began with a prayer for the prosperity and development of Pakistan.
On every 25 December, there is a Public Holiday.
The National Flage is always hoisted on Government’s building across the country. Wreaths are laid at Quaid’s mausoleum as per tradition.
The changing of guard ceremony is held at Mizar-e-Quaid and charge is taken by the Military Squad of Kakul Academy. All the important government official including PM, President, Chief of Army Staff and others expresses their views on the efforts of Quaid-e-Azam.
PM Shahbaz Sharif said in his message that the best way to pay tribute to Quaid-e-Azam is to follow his principles and make Pakistan an Islamic Welfare state.
In his Message, President Arif Alvi renewed the Pakistan’s Pledge to Continue Its Moral, Diplomatic and Political Support to the people of Kashmir Illegally Occupied by India, in Realizing their Dreams of Self-Determination in the Line with United Nation Security Council Resolution.
Various events are organized at small- and large-scale platforms and efforts of Quaid are discussed in the speeches that are broadcasted at Pakistan Television (PTV) and other Channels.
Where do we (Pakistan) stand today?
Quaid-e-Azam sacrificed himself for this country and at least fulfilled the dream of Iqbal. After the departure of Quaid, I will describe our responsibility in a phrase of song:
[Hum laen Hain Tufan se Kashti Nikal ke
Iss Mulk ko Rakhna Merey Bachoon Sambhal Ke]
Just one year after the establishment of Pakistan, Jinnah’s death and the lack of Political Leadership made Pakistan unable to stabilize itself in the early days and suffered from various difficulties. Due to our stupid decisions, we first lost Kashmir and Later Pakistan was divided into two parts and now we’ve West Pakistan.
Who is responsible for Current Situation?
Today, due to wrong decisions and mismanagement, Pakistan is standing on the brink of destruction. We are in high debt. The situation has reached such a point that Pakistan is close to default. We need IMF’s funds to save the economy of the country.
On the other hand, our political leaders are fighting each other for Power. Every political party thinks that Pakistan will become prosperous after they come to power. That's why Pakistan has economic crisis as well as the Political instability.
If we are asked who is responsible for the current situation of Pakistan, we will say that our politicians are responsible for it. It is a harsh reality that we blamed only the politicians for the result even though we ourselves are equally responsible for all these situations. Because it is we who choose such politicians. We except the government to shoulder all the responsibilities of running the country and absolve itself. Despite reaching this point, we share the principles (Faith, Unity and Discipline) of Quaid-e-Azam with the world but forget to act ourselves.
It is the sing of ignorance that on Independence Day, when houses and streets are decorated with small paper flags, on which the image of the founding Father of Pakistan is made. The same paper flags you find the next day on the ground or near the garbage heap. At this point we need to think about our duties and need the courage for their fulfillment.
Conclusion:
Today on Quaid's day we pledge that we will prove through our actions that we are a responsible nation. To conclude with the quote of Quaid-e-Azam that is;
“Muslims don’t Panic in Adversity.”
