 Grand Avenue of Pera is the historical name of Istiklal Caddesi. This area is known as the heart of Istanbul, Turkiye. This street has historical importance and it’s a tourists attraction point. 

On Sunday at About 16:20 local time (13:20 GMT) a blast had occurred in istiklal in the area of Taksim square. 

The blast was a shocking scene for the tourists as well as for the shopkeepers. Statics shows that 6 people (two members each of three families) died and 81people were injured. 

In interview with BBC, an eyewitness Cemal Denizic 50m away from the blasted area take place, said; 

“There was Black Smoke, and the Noise was so strong, almost deafening.” 

Arrest of a woman: 

By investigating the blast footage, a suspected Syrian woman was arrested along with 46 people. 

According to Turkiye justice ministry that the woman was observed sitting on a bench in the street for more than 40 minutes. The blast occurred just after the minute she got up. 

Turkiye’s President statement: 

President Tayyip Erdogan said that this blast on Istiklal avenue as “Smell like Terrorism”. 

In tweet he further added that we will bring criminal to an end. 

Interior Minister Statement: 

On Monday, the very next morning, Interior minister Suleyman Soylu said that Kurdish Worker’s Party (PKK) and Syria Kurdish YPG were responsible for the blast. 

Because there was previously a bomb blast in 2016. A bomber Ahlam Albashir was
arrested in an overnight police raid. Through investigations he declared as Syrian and was trained by Kurdish militant and he had entered in Turkiye through Afrin Sirayan town. 

USA’s Condolence: 

A statement from white House: 

“We Stood shoulder-to-shoulder" 

Turkiye rejected USA condolence: 

Interior minister comment in a tv: 

“We do not accept the Condolence from USA Embassy. We rejected it.” 

The reason behind it that YPG is a terrorist organization and also supported by the USA.
