Women University Multan is one of the Emerging University in Multan, Pakistan. The WUM started its journey in 2013. After a long struggle Women’s college transformed into Women university.  

The department of Political Science and International Relations also developed over time. The head of department and faculty members along with the students organize various curricular and extracurricular activities. This department is considered the most active department in the whole university. The department of women university organized the activity of Model of United Nations on Friday (9 december,2022).

MUN: 

MUN, referred to as the Model UN, is an educational simulation to learn about diplomacy and international issues. In the conference of MUN, the students act as the representators of different states. They find the solution by the debates among different delegates. Before the conference, the delegates prepared their speech by formulating the position paper through detailed research.  

Different universities organize the conferences of Model UN. 

MUN activity at Women University Multan 2022: 

ON 9 December,2022 the head, faculty members and students of the department of Political Science and International Relations conducted the activity of MUN.

The Conference contained two agenda that was elaborated in two Sessions. 

The first agenda was “Establishing Peace in Israel-Palestine crisis” and the second one
was the “Climate Change".  

Both the sessions proceeded by the Head of the Department Prof. Ayesha Iram as the Chairperson. The sessions started by the rules of the MUN’s conference, one minute silence for world peace. Then the resolution was read by the Deputy Chairperson Prof. Marium Fareed. 

First Session: 

In the first session, the students of different semesters participated as distinguished delegates that are China, Israel, India, Kingdom of Saudia Arabia, Palestine, Pakistan, turkey and the United State of America.

All the delegates explained the agenda in detail, in favor of their states. After the end of the session, the journalist students asked the questions from the delegates. 

Then the Chairperson and the honorable guests gave the best delegate award to the delegate of Palestine that had briefly explained their agenda.  

Second Session: 

The second session started after a short break. The students as the delegates of China, Israel, India, Russia, Palestine, Pakistan, Turkey and the United State of America explained their agenda and its possible solution. 

At the end of the session the best delegate award was given to the delegate of Russia by the Chairperson and the honorable guest. 

Significance of this kind of the activities in the universities: 

These types of informational activities such as the activity of MUN will be helpful for students in their professional life, whenever they perform on the platform of United Nations. 

This activity also helps students to understand international relations in a formal way. The students will also be able to do research work and also be able to represent him/her selves on various platforms. 

To conclude, All the credit goes to the Head of Department of Political Science and International Relations, the faculty members and the students of the different semester for the conduction of this activity at WUN.
